Single origin means that all our spices are capable of being traced back to a single area of production, even to single farm. All our spices are from Turkey, except for the cinnamon which we source from Indonesia and the Himalayan salt which is from Pakistan.

It also means that each of our spices exhibits their own unique terroir - the environment where they’re grown imbues a unique set of flavours and smells to the spice, like how grapes from France produce different wines than grapes from Argentina.

Other spices are... well, from many different origins and countries. Often, the spices you're buying are sourced from many, many different farms from a handful of countries. High and low-quality lots are blended for consistency and cost and so much of the flavour is lost along the way.

Our spices are sourced directly from small farms in Turkey.

Most of our spices are organically grown. However, some of our farmers are certified organic and some are not.

Our herbs and spices are harvested by hand, dried naturally and transported whole to preserve freshness. Our spices are non-irradiated and naturally free of gluten, allergens and any additives, colourings, anti-caking agents and other fillers to ensure that they are 100% natural.

Certifications are expensive, often too expensive for an independent small farmer to afford.

The short answer is you should not! Spices are for cooking, not for storing. Try to keep them in an area where you can see them while you're cooking - ideally within arms reach.

We ship our spices in a pouch specifically with two key factors in mind: high barrier and eco-friendliness. The entire packaging is fully biodegradable, high quality materials grant special durability and defense against external factors, such as humidity or oxygenation, the bag is fully resealable, and thus increases the longevity and freshness of your product.

With that said, we know you can't use every spice every day, so we recommend keeping them in a dark, dry cabinet away from the heat of the stove or direct sunlight, protected from light, heat, and humidity. We don't recommend storing spices in the fridge because condensation can build up as you take them in and out.

Each resealablw pouch is 120mm wide x 200mm high.

Delivery (2-3 working days)

We charge a flat delivery rate of £4.95 for most orders.

**FREE DELIVERY ON ORDERS OVER £10**

Spices are a beautiful way of adding flavour, aroma, and colour to your cooking.

We like the idea of experimenting as much as possible with your spices. Our spices also tend to be more flavourful than your regular grocery store spices. So start with a little less than your recipes recommend and taste from there.
