



Shawarma Seasoning

Traditional shawarma is basically well-marinated meat, layered on a vertical rotisserie or spit where it's slow roasted for days in its own juices and fat, until perfectly tender and extra flavourful!
To serve it, typically they shave a layer of shawarma off the spit and pile it up into a pita pocket, jazz it with tahini sauce and heaps upon heaps of fresh toppings!
Shawarma is the epitome of seductive Turkish/ Middle Eastern flavours. And the good news is, you can now make it at home with our Shawarma Seasoning with the same authentic flavours!
Ingredients:
- Himalaya salt
- Pepper
- Garlic
- Onion
- Coriander
- Pul Biber
- Cumin
- Sweet Paprika
- Cinnamon
- Turmeric
Method:
- 500g Thinly slice Beef/Chicken or Lamb into small bite-sized pieces.
- Add 3 tbsp of Shawarma Seasoning and toss to coat.
- Add 1 onion, 1 tbsp of lemon juice and 3 tbsp of olive oil and marinated for minimum an hour or longer
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees
- Spread the marinated meat with the onions in one layer on a large lightly oiled baking tray and roast for 30 minutes in the 200 degrees heated oven
- To serve, open pita pockets up. Spread a little tahini sauce or Tzatziki sauce, add shawarma, arugula, and pickles or olives, if you like. Serve immediately
