You will be amazed by this complete mix and how easy it is making your very own homemade doner kebab
KOFTE KEBAB SEASONING
The Kofte Kebab can be shaped either as a ball, patties or sausage shape. This mince is where it gets its name as Kofte, translated this means to pound or to grind and Kebab means pieces of meat, fish, or vegetables roasted or grilled on a skewer or spit. Our Kofte Kebab Seasoning is based on Turkish flavourings which they would traditionally serve in kebab houses, accompanied by Tzatziki or plain yoghurt.
Kebabs of all kinds are common in Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisines, Adana Kebab is named after the city of Adana in Turkey, where it is originated, and is traditionally made of minced lamb or beef mounted on a skewer and grilled over charcoal.
CHICKEN SHISH KEBAB
Shish Kebab originated in Turkey, so you can't get much more authentic then with Baharat Chicken Shish Seasoning. The method of cooking meats on a skewer over an open fire originated on the fields of central Anatolia In Turkey, it’s said the descendants of Genghis Khan himself skewered their daily catch on their swords and cooked it over an open flame. This concept was refined over time and was brought to the world with the westward migration of Turkic peoples.
Our spectacular cured sumac grows around Gaziantep, Turkey, where instead of being dried, it’s chopped and packed in Himalaya salt to preserve it. It has a bright, sour, salty and slightly fermented flavour, swap it for lemon juice in any recipe or use to add character and brightness to salads, fish, meat, or dips. It also makes a perfect topping for anything from hummus to salad to roasted veggies or meat to scrambled eggs.
Not only does this Mediterranean seasoning work in salads such as a tasty vegetarian chickpea salad with citrus vinaigrette, it is also an amazing dry rub for meat and fish. The Oregano and Sweet Paprika give this spice blend an unbelievable fresh and earthy flavour. It also works well in any wet marinade. For example, a yogurt marinade for chicken with a tablespoon of this spice blend mixed in will bring it to life!
